Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing treatment that uses a chemical solution to exfoliate the top layers of skin. As the outer layers shed, the new skin underneath appears smoother, brighter, and more even in tone and texture.

Many chemical peels are safe for all skin tones, but not every formula is ideal for every skin type. During your consultation, we’ll assess your skin and choose the safest and most effective option for you.

Chemical peels can improve a wide range of skin concerns, including: fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage and pigmentation, acne and acne scars, uneven skin tone and texture, enlarged pores, dull or congested skin

Some chemical peels can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. However, certain formulations (such as no-downtime peels) can be performed year-round. We’ll advise you on sun care and protection following your treatment.

During a chemical peel, your provider will cleanse your skin and apply the chemical solution. Your provider may or may not include dermaplaning prior to your peel, depending on the peel solution used. It is normal to potentially feel mild tingling, warmth, or tightness. The treatment typically takes 30–60 minutes.

You may not be a candidate if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active infections or open wounds in the treatment area, and/or have certain medical conditions or are taking medications that interfere with healing. Your provider will review your medical history to ensure chemical peels are appropriate for you.

Downtime depends on the type of peel and the skin's chemistry at the time of the peel. Light peels often have little to no downtime, while medium or deep peels may result in visible peeling, redness, and flaking for several days. Your provider will provide personalized aftercare instructions to support your recovery.

Results can be seen as early as a few days after treatment, especially with lighter peels. More intensive peels may take 1–2 weeks for full results, with continued improvement over time as collagen production is stimulated.

Most clients see best results with a series of 4–6 treatments spaced several days to weeks apart, depending on the peel provided. Your provider will recommend a customized plan based on your skin’s needs.

Before and after your chemical peel, avoid: retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, or exfoliants (for at least 3–5 days, waxing or laser treatments, prolonged sun exposure. Post-peel, keep your skin moisturized, avoid picking or peeling, and use SPF daily.
